종교 사상가 압둘 바하는 이렇게 말했습니다. “사랑이 있는 곳에 이겨내지 못할 고난은 없으며, 사랑하는 이를 위해서라면 항상 시간을 낼 수 있다.” 아무리 한가해도 싫어하는 사람에게 할애할 시간은 생기지 않지만, 아무리 바빠도 사랑하는 사람에 관한 일이라면 신기하게도 시간이 생깁니다. 모든 것은 마음먹기에 달린 거라는 뜻이지요.

영화 “인터스텔라”에서 사랑하는 사람을 멀고 외딴 행성으로 떠나보낸 브랜드 박사(앤 해서웨이)가 조종사 쿠퍼(매튜 매커너히)에게 말합니다.

“사랑은 시공을 초월하는 유일한 것이에요. 사랑은 우리가 만들어낸 것은 아니지만… 관측 가능하고, 강력하죠.”

맞습니다. 사랑은 모든 것을 이깁니다.

Love is…

The religious thinker Abdu’l-Bahá says, “Where there is love, nothing is too much trouble and there is always time.”

No matter how free it is, you’ll never have time for someone you don’t like, but no matter how busy you are, you’ll mysteriously find time for someone you love. It’s all in the mindset.

In the movie “Interstellar”, Dr. Brand (Anne Hathaway), who has just left his loved one on a distant planet, tells pilot Cooper (Matthew McConaughey). “Love is the only thing that transcends time and space. Love is not something we invent… it’s observable, powerful.”

That’s right, love conquers all.
